Coconut Grove Dog Rescue

                                              http://www.coconutgrovedogrescue.org/
Coconut Grove Dog Rescue is an animal welfare and rescue group located in Coconut Grove, Florida. The group formed due to a loosely knit group of neighbors who brought their dogs to Blanche Dog Park located on Virginia Street and Shipping Avenue in Coconut Grove.   Dogs are abandoned in our little sailing village on an almost daily basis. Most dogs brought to Miami-Dade Animal Services will be euthanized due to overcrowding and lack of funding for staff, facilities and care of the dogs until permanent homes can be found.   Knowing this, a loose knit group of Grovites began fostering and finding permanent homes for dogs abandoned in Coconut Grove to avoid the consequences of bringing them to the County shelter.    Not all abandoned dogs were “success stories” and the strays and other abandoned dogs in the park have been increasing this past year. Landlords are finding dogs in abandoned homes and apartments; neighbors are finding the same thing….This must be stopped.
Coconut Grove Dog Rescue works to find foster and permanent, loving homes for these animals left to fend for themselves.
Together, we can all make a difference. Coconut Grove Dog Rescue is seeking 501(c)(3) non-profit status at this time. In the meantime, many wonderful people and local businesses have been extremely generous in donating funds and services to assist this cause despite the lack of availability of a tax deduction. We appreciate those efforts as do all the animals we have rescued.
Make a difference and save a life!
